Pool party
Since last time, we have had 8 new pools deployed on the GYSR platform! This includes 5 new pools on mainnet and 3 on Polygon, with the breakdown being 5 of them are Fountains while 3 are Geysers.
To shout out some more specific updates - Charged Particles and Perion each re-funded their existing pools and we’ve extended our GYSR liquidity mining programs on Polygon and Optimism! The Polygon and Optimism pools each use the GYSR + ArrakisFinance solution for Uniswap v3 liquidity incentives 🤝🛠️
New funding bot
Looking for an easier way to find out about new pool funding? Head over to our Discord server to see our new funding bot! 🤖
Ecosystem integrations
Snapshot integrations
We think that inclusive and incentivized governance is really important for your project community, so we’ve continued to build a robust integration between GYSR + Snapshot. To follow up on our February strategy to allow users to vote using their GYSR staking balance, we recently added two new strategies - GYSR LP staking balance and GYSR pending rewards. The former lets liquidity providers vote with the governance token underlying their LP positions 🧑🌾 while the latter includes the tokens your users earned but not yet claimed 💸.
Want to know the cherry 🍒 on top for us? Both were accomplished through Dework development tasks! See below for more on Dework and learn more about these strategies here.
UMA KPI Options & alpha
Friendly reminder that we have partnered with UMA + Outcome to help projects easily stream KPI options on GYSR (aka distribute KPI options as a pool reward to further align users with the long term success of your protocol 🔥). We recently refreshed our joint demo and you can try it out live on goerli here!
To kick it up a notch - 🚨alpha alert🚨 - we’re now working to co-develop a tighter contract-level integration with UMA to enable continuous and more flexible KPI-based rewards.
Merlin integration
Lastly, Merlin recently announced that they have integrated GYSR into their DeFi portfolio tracker!
Infrastructure updates
ICYMI - we also completed our migration to Graph network and have already processed over 200,000 queries through decentralized nodes! We even received a spotlight from their team:
Additionally, we have now migrated to Goerli testnet! Builders, please reach out with any questions or assistance needed, but you can find our Goerli addresses here so go nuts 🥜.
Development teasers
v3.0 progress
We have continued to chug away on core protocol development for our upcoming v3.0 release. We have written a lot of smart contract code over the past few months, along with an order of magnitude more in test cases 🚂
Namely, the latest effort is focused on the development of a new bond staking module. The bond sale mechanism will allow users to purchase project tokens at a discount priced on a bonding curve. This enables projects to acquire permanent protocol-owned liquidity and other valuable assets.
🤓The technical translation: Within our modular pool architecture, it will be made up of the “bond staking module” + “fixed reward module”.
🧒The ELI5 translation: Projects will be able to do more cool things like trade assets with users, making sure that project and stakeholder incentives can remain aligned and mutually beneficial.
Additionally, v3.0 will include various improvements to the core pool contract for efficiency, interoperability, and flexibility.
Subgraph upgrades
We remain locked in for the v3.0 subgraph upgrade too, to ensure that we coordinate our efforts to index data for this next release and account for new modules, the updated pool contract, and the new factory system.
Webapp updates
On the webapp side, we are building a set of brand new user experiences for interacting with the many new mechanisms that will be possible with v3.0. Look out for some screenshot sneak previews soon! 👀
Milestones
In September, we hit over 4M GYSR tokens spent in pools across the platform! That’s over 50% of the circulating supply - learn more about why that’s important here.
💡 Did you know? Since 2021, community incentives make up the largest portion of the average token allocation at 43%.
🤿 Deeper Dive: Here’s why this matters.
Dework
Are you one of many GYSR supporters who wish there was an easier way to directly contribute to the success of the project? Find us on Dework! Dework is a Web3-native project management tool with token payments, credentialing, and bounties 🤑. This allows us to post tasks and other initiatives for contributors to pick up on our public board, as well as allows for you to use the “Community Suggestions” feature to let us know what you’re thinking!
Hiring 🌱
GYSR is growing! We are looking to involve more contributors for smart contract development, frontend development, biz dev, marketing, and more! In addition to the Dework launch, we have already brought on a few more folks in the past month for both development and operations.
If you are interested, please reach out! We have a lot of building to do 🛠️
