Pool Party
Since the last newsletter, 109 new Pools have been deployed on our platform. Not 109 total, 109 NEW pools. This includes 4 Pools launched on mainnet, and 105 Pools launched on Polygon. We are thrilled by the rapid growth and adoption of GYSR on L2, and it just goes to show how much demand there is for cheap blockchain usage. The Pool creators include projects like xDollar, ZAP, ARA, NFThub, Black Market Gaming, and many more, which span various domains across DeFi, art, gaming, and stablecoins.
$GYSR Usage
An important data point that we track is the amount of $GYSR spent across our platform, and since the v2 launch this metric has been impressive. Zooming out, since our launch a total of 2.5M $GYSR tokens (~36% circulating supply) have been spent across all Pools on the platform. Check out this tweet thread to learn more about why we consider this to be one of the best indicators of platform usage.
Team Retreat
We had our first GYSR team retreat in early September. In fact, it was actually the first time some of us had ever met in person! We had an incredibly productive and enjoyable trip, full of great discussions (both related and unrelated to crypto), tons of brainstorming, and lots of roadmap planning.
Some key takeaways:
We are growing the team. Look out for more on this.
NFT staking was bumped to the top of the queue. There is lots of demand and it’s an industry trend we want to service. We believe this is a great fit for a GYSR module in our new framework.
We want to focus on making projects feel “at home” when they use GYSR. Specifically, this means we will be working on including custom project info on the GYSR webapp, a set of SDKs, and more.
We forked Loot for fun and created Froot (for grocery shoppers). Go look that up on OpenSea for a quick laugh. To clarify, this is not part of our roadmap.
Development Updates:
Web app:
We have been working on some key UI/UX improvements based on feedback from the community. Upcoming web app updates include: adding support for Wallet Connect, a new chart on the stats page to show $GYSR usage over time, and a few minor UX tweaks e.g. including more tooltips and fixing inconsistencies on localized numbers in browsers outside of the US.
Subgraph:
Last month, we deployed a new release of the GYSR subgraph. These updates support platform growth via new chains, new token types, more pools, third party apps, etc. Specifically, the release adds multi-chain support, pricing for Balancer weighted pool LP tokens, improved pricing, an event handler for “claim” operations, and other hardening improvements. See this Tweet thread for more information:
Core updates:
We have been heads down over the past few months on research and development for multiple new modules. As mentioned above, the focus is currently on delivering an NFT staking module for the GYSR platform. The whole team is excited to share that the design, development, and testing of the ERC721 staking module has been completed, and we are now in the process of scheduling a formal security audit of the code. Look out for an upcoming post with more details around how this will work.
