Pool Party
Over the past two months we have seen 50 new Pools deployed across Polygon and Ethereum mainnet. This includes 4 new deployments on Mainnet and 46 on Polygon. Of these new pools, 27 were Fountains, and 23 were Geysers. The Pool creators include projects such as SpaceChain, AthleteX, and Vesper.
Metadata
We’re happy to report that we have added a customization layer to the GYSR Pool process. Every project that launches a Geyser or Fountain can now include metadata related to logos, a project description, external links, and so on. This change involved major webapp, contract, and subgraph updates. Please see the example image of our Pools page below and check out the article here for more detail.
Webapp Release
In October, we rolled out a major set of updates to the GYSR Webapp. This included support for Wallet Connect (after some community feedback), new visualizations, and various UI/UX improvements. Along with the metadata changes, the app is now looking sharp.
Emissions Cut
As of November 5th, the GYSR community pool has entered its final phase of token distribution. This will last 3 years and reward the remaining 25% of locked $GYSR tokens to liquidity providers. This emissions cut is an important step towards long term sustainability of the GYSR platform as we taper rewards and shift towards value generation from platform usage.
GYSR Anniversary🎂
On October 28th we had the 1 year anniversary of our protocol! We are basically boomers in crypto at this point. Some fast facts from our first year on chain:
We had 3600+ users
There have been 30K transactions on our contracts
285 Pools were deployed
We facilitated $1.46B USD in volume
We are marking the occasion with a set of POAPs we’ve been developing, so look out for claim instructions if you’re an early adopter.
New Team Member
DeanRey has been a standout GYSR community member since the start of our project. We’re excited to share that he has come onboard as an official community manager. He’s shared his thoughts on this role and his excitement for GYSR in a great thread here.
NFT NYC
Several team members attended NFT NYC and had fun meeting crypto people in real life for the first time in ages. Our takeaways were super positive. NFTs are a great gateway for “normal” people to get into crypto. There is a huge amount of potential at the intersection of DeFi and NFTs, and we’re excited to be building in that category.
NFT Staking
Our current development focus is on NFT staking, which we believe is a critical building block for the integration of DeFi and NFTs. This requires a major set of upgrades to core contracts, the webapp, and the subgraph, along with a UX rethink and redesign.
The core ERC721 staking contracts have been developed, rigorously tested, and are currently going through a third party security audit. The webapp has been upgraded to support visualization and staking of NFTs; it is going through a final design touch up now. The subgraph has been updated to support indexing data from the NFT staking modules. All of this is already live on testnet.
We also recognize the significance of integrating DeFi and NFTs to the broader crypto ecosystem. To promote composability and interoperability, even beyond our platform, we have started an EIP discussion on a standard interface for NFT "functional ownership" when held by another smart contract.
As always, thanks to our community for all the great support, and please feel free to reach out with any feedback, questions, or ideas.
